The 65 ABS/OSW forecast shows that Category I Hurricane Gabrielle will affect Azores weather late on Thursday 25 September. The intensity forecast will start Thursday, 25 Sept and the worst period expected will be between Friday, 26 Sept afternoon to Saturday morning. Occasional periods of severe rain may occur with max 2 inches/hour, and an increased threat of flash flooding or systemic flooding posing credible threat to unprotected resources and personnel. Very high swells generated by Gabrielle are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
